Day 06- Discuss school and your educational goals

very long time ago, my sister Rosa and I created our "Plans". We wrote them down on two small whiteboards and we've had them on our fridges ever since. She is my hero, my role model, and everything in a woman that I want to be. Strong. Independent. Intelligent. Inspiring. She has taken life's bull by the horns and is taking it for a ride. While she is accomplishing everything she ever dreamed of doing career and education-wise, I strive to be as dedicated as her. She is currently serving the Peace Corps in Guatemala, and you can follow her beautiful journey on her blog

May 2014. That's when I graduate from San Francisco State University with my Bachelor's degree in Sociology. Finally. 6 years after my high school graduation, I'm walking the second stage towards my diploma. I'm only 23 but I feel like 35. I want to be done already, but I know my career goals mean a long road ahead. I plan on pursuing a career in medicine. My goal is to be a doctor, cardiology to be exact. But life throws so many curveballs that I'm not entirely too sure what will happen. In the meantime I will sure as hell try my hardest in school to get into medical schools across the country, so that no matter where Chreston gets stationed (Hawaii, please!), I can go to a school that will be nearby. Currently, however, I am in my second to last semester, and although I'm for sure going to get good grades, I have self-diagnosed myself with a bad case of Senioritis. In fact, I have a paper due tomorrow and I'm writing this instead. Oops. Not to worry, Procrastination is actually my middle name ;-)

  2. thank you for talking about me on your blog sweetheart...thank you for your apoyo, cariño y amor durante todos estos años de lucha. so even if life throws at you curveballs, you gotta keep focus on your goals; be brave, take risks, nothing can substitute experience. Just remember what Steve Jobs said, "...have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become."
